As 2024 draws to a close, it is that time of the year again for my annual recap of the best things eaten over the past 12 months.
This year’s top dish roundup sees plenty of entries from our 2 home bases of KL and London alongside those from favourite haunts revisited in San Sebastian and Lucca. There are also new discoveries in Perlis & Jerez!
Huge thanks to hospitality folks from all across the world for many a memorable feast and all the lovely friends & family whose fine company these meals were shared with.

Sometimes it’s hard to find food that truly excites your taste buds, but this is such a perfectly mouth-watering roundup! It reminded me of being in Nepal on the Kathmandu Pokhara Chitwan tour, especially exploring the bustling food streets of Thamel and Basantapur. The Newari treats like chaatamari, bara, and those flavorful soups gave me that same unforgettable, mouth-teasing experience. There’s something magical about authentic local flavors, and this post captures that feeling beautifully.
