Chinese New Year Feast @ the Tham’s: 2012 edition
If there’s one good reason I would stick around the UK for Chinese New year as opposed to going back to KL, it would be to attend the awesome CNY party which T and his family put on at their home in Surrey. Year after year, T’s family, led by his dad, cook up a serious storm of Malaysian-Chinese food’s greatest hits, making for a CNY feast like no other. Here’s the highlight reel from yet another terrific party, capped off by the customary finale of fireworks and floating lanterns!
Malaysian Curry Chicken (yummeh-mummeh.)
The Full Monty! (from Left to Right: Roast Duck, Sauteed prawns, Braised Pork Ribs, Kerabu Salad, Curry Chicken)
T’s Mom’s gorgeous Coconut Cupcakes
Y’s Clementine Macarons (…mhhmm)
…the mark a rollickingly prosperous year ahead.
Thanks a million to T & family for having us over again. Keong Hee Huat Chye!!!

I think it’s some kind of twisted social conditioning but everytime I see a photo of a mandarin orange with stem and leaf still attached, my brain immediately thinks of Heston’s Dinner. And I’ve not even visiting…
Nice to see real fruit, actually.
😀
Kavey: Uncanny you mention it as I’m actually headed to Heston’s Dinner tmr night!
Out of curiosity, I wonder where they managed to find floating lanterns? I don’t think I’ve ever seen those in Penang!
Suyin: Actually have no idea where they got them from, but they seem to have a supply of them every year! Let me ask!
