The Xmas Eve feast: 2011 edition

It was the return of the annual Christmas Eve potluck feast at my place again last night. I’m writing this post still curled up in bed on Christmas morning (well, noon actually), nursing a slightly bloated stomach (and mild hangover of course)… But after the over-indulgence of our 5 kg Goose, 3 kg Cherry Coke Ham, Julia Child’s Bouef Bourguignon, Lamb Shoulder, several litres of Jo’s Tiramisu, 1.2 kg of Heston Blumenthal’s Hidden Orange Christmas Pud, and many, many more kilograms of Pasta, trimmings, salad, minced pies and canapes, it’s no wonder I’ve become an immovable object this morning.

Thanks a million to all who came for the tonnes of food, booze and great company! Here are a selection of photos from yet another terrific dinner…

Anchovy Pintxos with pickled red onion (left) and X’mas colour peppers (right)

Seafood Pasta with prawns, white wine, tomatoes and parsley

Mac ‘n Cheese!

Nigella Lawson’s Cherry Coke Gammon made yet another comeback…

…as did our customary beauty of a Christmas Goose!

…and lets not forget Heston Blumenthal’s limited edition Hidden Orange X’mas Pudding (RRP £13.99, but on the black market for up to £300!)

Christmas jumpers out in full force!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all! Tis the season to be jolly and over-indulge after all.
